WOW

Wow....who knew that working full time and having a family could take up so much time???

John has been having some pain issues with the scar tissue from his last surgery (hernia repair on January 27). So we went to see the surgeon and she told him basically to tough it out. If it gets worse or his belly starts to change shape and size, then we need to go and see a general surgeon. He is also not to lift anything over 20 pounds indefinitely and will not be able to go back to work as a truck driver, so he is looking at going back to school for web design and computer programming. He is also to wear his hernia belt at all times, well, except for when he bathes or showers.

I am working 40 hours at the bank, and loving it. They are really supportive about all the stuff going on in my life and they are flexible with when I work. My manager told me yesterday that as long as I get in my 40 hours and it doesn't leave us short handed, he has no problem with when I work. Which is great considering what is coming up.....

Which leads me to Josh. I got a call at work yesterday morning from the nurse at school saying that Josh had had a "mini-seizure" or so she thinks. He had hit his knee on the desk and then just slumped out of his chair onto the floor and started having tremors. I took him to the er and they did a CT scan and nothing showed up on that, they also did blood work and a urinalysis and they were both negative, so that is good, but it doesn't explain what happened. We are going to see our family doctor on Monday and possibly have an EEG and MRI to see what is going on. He has started running for track and I'm wondering if that hasn't contributed to this, but I could be way off base too.

Trin is busy as ever with Track and summer softball practices starting. Her first softball game is May 6th....too early for my taste, but oh well....I'm not her coach. She is excelling in school with a 3.84 GPA and is a big help around here with everything that is going on.

Kaycee also is starting summer softball practice. Her first game is May 11.....and they don't even get out of school until May 20....too much for little kids if you ask me.

Becca graduates from Pre-K on May 6th....she is so excited. She just now realized that next year she will be able to walk to and from school with the big kids and eat lunch there just like they do. She thinks she is hot stuff now ;D

That's about all new going on around here. Like I need any more excitement in my life...right?

Okay---I know more than a week has passed!!

Just so that Jess knows that I know that more than a week has passed, I gave my newest post that title!! (Ya know I loves ya Jess!!)

Anyway, John had his surgery on the 27th and came through it pretty well. He came home that Friday with his 20 some-odd staples and his abdominal binder on. He now knows what it was like for the women in the 1800's to wear corsets!!

The surgeon ended up cutting him from his belly button to his...um...well, you can guess! She also took out 2 inches of skin that had been stretched, what a way to get a tummy tuck!! She said that everything looked good and there were a couple of places where there was absolutely no muscle holding things in, it was right up against the skin. Yucko!!

He had his staples removed on Thursday the 12th and our family doctor, who is a great friend, walked in the room, saw the staple remover laid out and her first words weren't "How are you today?" It was "I get to inflict pain, YES!!" She knows how to break the ice, and that made John a little more relaxed I think!!

This Thursday, the 19th, we get to spend the day in Kansas City! Not for shopping (aw man!!) or going to a museum or the theater, but to spend the day in hospitals and doctors offices!! Kaycee has her tests (upper endoscopy and colonoscopy) that morning, and John has his 3 week check-up with his surgeon. We'll be seeing enough of the city though, Kaycee is at Children's Mercy in downtown KC, and John is all the way on the south side at 435 and State Line Road!! Not really the way I want to spend a day in the city, but I guess I'll get over it (SIGH!!)

Trin had her first "big time" dance a couple of weeks ago. She is on the Student Council and they sponsored the dance, so she had to go (and really wanted to). She took her camera and took a few pictures, of the other kids dancing!! I asked her if she danced, and she said "NO!!!" She had more fun goofing around with her friends instead of dancing with a boy!!! She was tired and said that she wasn't going to go to any more dances that lasted longer than 10pm (YES!!!!), but I think she had fun!!

Josh qualified for the spelling be that will be on Tuesday. He is so excited since his sister qualified 2 years ago and made it to the District spelling bee in St. Joseph!! I hope he doesn't get to upset if he doesn't qualify for that, as long as he does his best, I'm proud of him!!

Becca had her first "sleepover" last night. (That made me glad she wasn't twins!!) Tami and Jim's daughter Jaysa spent the night since there was no school and I had a 3 day weekend. Tami and Aunt Edna were going to the city shopping (lucky) today, and I volunteered to keep Jaysa since Jim and Tami did so much for us last year when John was so sick!

I'm going to leave you with a quote from one of my favorite people (Love ya JP!!) "There is a big difference between just performing a song and sharing music!"

That will stop and make ya think!! Have a great day/week/month....how ever long it takes for me to post again!! :)

Well my cousin Jessica tagged me in this game where I have to go to my fourth folder and post my fourth picture and explain what the picture is of and tell a little bit about it so here it is. This was taken in the summer of 2007. My mother-in-law is in the middle and of her grandkids are surrounding her. The really funny part is that two of my step-nephews were in my class!! How weird is that?!?! There have been 2 additions since then, 2 of John's nieces have had babies and there is another on the way!! This is small compared to my family.....but enjoy!! I now tag everyone who reads my blog!!!
